Reputation for quality
and reliability - For
more than 35 years, Rollomatic has made it a priority to put
our customers at the forefront of an ever-changing tool manufacturing
industry, by specializing in the development and production
of high performance tool and cutter grinding machines.

Grind (medical tools)
on a precision grinder - In close cooperation with
leading medical and dental manufacturers, Rollomatic has
developed an entire range of tool grinding machines for surgical
cutting tool applications. Today, more than 300 CNC tool
grinding machines are in operation within the medical and
dental field. Our machines are utilized for precision manufacturing
of medical drills, burs, taps, reamers, shavers and other
orthopedic and cranial cutting tools.

Product range - The product range
is continuously revised and adapted to the changing market
conditions and customer demands by cultivating the latest technological
discoveries through close cooperation with leading research
establishments, institutions and universities. Initial results
are presented to key customers at an early stage to allow their
practical requirements to be incorporated into future developments.
Why choose Rollomatic? To grind
surgical cutting tools and components, a CNC grinder with 6
interpolating axes is required for flexibility and essential
for cost-effective and fast grinding. 3 of the 6 axes are linear
and 3 are rotary. Due to the competitive nature inherent in
producing these tool types, rapid setups, short cycle times
and extended wheel life are crucial.
Medical Tool Grinder -
The GrindSmart 620XS is a versatile 6 axis CNC tool grinder
which is capable of grinding down to a diameter of 0.05mm (.002”)
using nano interpolation technology. In addition, 2 separate
wheel arbors, each with four multiple wheel mounts, are running
on a double-ended grinding spindle. This offers the maximum on
flexibility in terms of choice of wheel shapes to cover the entire
range of surgical tools.
Lights-out
production - With the Rollomatic CNC pick-and-place robot
loader unattended production is easily achieved, due to the simple
and accurate design, load times are quick and reliable.
|
Alleviate deflection
and control concentricity - The 620XS has a
unique V-block and steady rest system which allows long
and thin instruments to be ground regardless of the type
of material, which can be stainless steel, HSS, titanium,
nickel titanium, carbide or 2-piece construction. |
Grind round and unique
non-round shapes - An innovative new clamping system,
has broadened the machine capabilities to auto-load and grind
non-standard or non-round medical tools, including cosmetic
tweezers, scalpels and bone and finger rasps.
| Autoload long shanks -
An optional horizontal magazine loading system enables the
620XS to grind rotary cutting tools – medium to micro-size
- at lengths up to 16” in length with a 1,000 piece
capacity for lights-out operation. |

|
3-D Simulation Software -
VirtualGrind® is a grinding software suite for the
620XS that includes 3-D tool and machine simulation. The
tools can be designed off-line on a Windows-based PC using
individual standard and special grinding operations. |
Researching medical grinders -
During the research phase of a machine acquisition, Rollomatic
offers demonstration and grinding tests based on a tool or
print. The results will include grinding performance with cycle
times, wheel types and other specifications.

Machine and Software
Training - With the purchase of a Rollomatic
machine, the training is typically at the customer site
once the machine has been installed. It is conducted
by an application engineer for hands-on guidance with
both the software and machine operation. Training for
maintenance and specialized programming are also available. |
Exceptional applications
and service assistance - The Rollomatic team
has continued to grow and through the years has maintained
continuity in the staff while slowly adding on team members
based on service and application demands. The engineering
team, consisting of application and service engineers, all
have a background in industrial machine or cutting tool environments,
have the capability to create programming modules for specialty
tools and all undergo continuous training in the USA and
at Rollomatic SA in Switzerland. You can reach them directly
through a local office or on their cell phone for assistance
with machines, tool design and development, test grinding,
estimated cycle times or trouble shooting.

Extensive parts inventory -
To maintain grinder performance, Rollomatic’s main
U.S. office in Mundelein, IL, houses a large inventory
of parts and accessories for immediate shipment. |
| Grinding Symposium
and continued training - The annual Grinding Symposium
is held at Rollomatic in Mundelein, IL, each year in the
fall. It is a gathering of tool makers and speakers for sessions
which focus on every day tool grinding issues as well as
continued machine and software training for Rollomatic customers. |
