Background
Norwood was founded over 80 years ago as a tool and die operation.
Over the years, Norwood has grown into one of the Midwest's
major CNC machining and stamping centers.

When a surgeon picks up an instrument from the tray,
it must work perfectly.
When it's life and death, there are no second chances. These
are the types of products we manufacture: intricate, demanding,
impeccably functional.
Everyone told us "...this part can't be machined out of Teflon®." They
were wrong.
CNC Milling and Turning — Full complement
of horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers and Swiss
turning centers. We have 49 lathes (32 Swiss, 17 other),
92 horizontal machining centers, and 26 vertical machining
centers. Our Swiss turning centers have up to eight axes of control
which yield the ability to make very complex parts complete
on the primary machine. Most tooling is made in-house, meaning
faster deliveries, especially in the case of first orders
or prototypes.
Our press operation will shake up your concept of productivity.
Metal Stamping — Our computer-controlled
precision metal stamping systems are far above those found anywhere
else in the industry. Our modern facility utilizes the most precise
medium to high volume stamping systems with Minster precision
presses ranging from 32 to 400 tons. Our presses are equipped
with stock straighteners and coil feeds for high volume production
runs.
Our turnaround time on jobs is typically days instead of weeks.
Tool & Die — Our state of
the art tool and die center is just across the street
from our machining and stamping operations. Creating
our own dies, prototype parts, tooling, fixtures, and
gauges, we minimize downtime, maximize productivity and
assure the volume dependability for which we are known.
Nitinol Processing - Norwood has perfected
the process of working with Nitinol memory alloy to create
biocompatible and implantable finished parts.
New Capabilities - With the addition of
vacuum heat treating, passivation, and a 1,500 sq. ft. Class
10,000 clean room, we are prepared to take our customers
products all the way through packaging, if desired.
A customer walked in the door one morning with an idea. He left later
that day with a prototype. Quite a challenge, but we did it.
We're ready, willing and able to grow with you. |
