Engelhardt is Chief Executive Officer of Knowledge Enterprises, Inc. as well as
a Founding Partner of Knowledge Ventures LLC, a venture capital firm focused on
orthopaedic technology. A former executive of AcroMed Corp. and DePuy, Mr. Engelhardt
is a futurist and recognized authority on technology trends in orthopaedics .
He holds 19 patents covering large and small joints, spine, and trauma. Mr.
Engelhardt managed design teams in the early days of disc replacement, and ironically,
more than a decade later, became the first American to receive what is now known
as the Prestige cervical disc prior to its release in the U.S.
He has published hundreds of articles in the academic and popular press, is Editor-in-Chief
of Orthopaedic Product News, and is a frequently requested speaker at industry
events. He
received his Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Virginia
Polytechnic Institute, a Masters in Bioengineering from Louisiana Tech, and did
post graduate biomechanics research at LSU Medical Center. |
