Summit’s outsourcing services help clients, including Bacterin and Stryker Spine, meet the needs of hospitals and physicians worldwide.

Bacterin, one of Fortune Magazines “25 Breakout Companies of 2005,” has developed its own biologic line called OsteoSponge™. OsteoSponge™ is a human allograft consisting of 100% bone; it has the open, porous structure of cancellous bone, yet is compressible and elastic with sponge-like properties. Its unique handling characteristics make it ideal for numerous Orthopedic and Dental applications. Bacterin also supplies traditional allograft materials. Future products will combine the intellectual properties and patents of its bioactive coatings to enhance biologic implants. Biologic products will be managed at, and distributed through, Summit.

Bacterin is the pioneer in biofilm science technology. Aside from being the leading independent testing facility for bioactive coatings; Bacterin also manufactures and licenses its own proprietary bioactive coating technology, suitable for a variety of medical applications. Bacterin’s anti-infective coatings inhibit microbial adherence and biofilm formation, thus preventing infection caused from an implantable medical device.

Both companies are located in the Gallatin Valley.
