Well-known orthopaedic instrument innovator, Precimed SA (headquartered in Orvin, Switzerland) has entered into an agreement with Praxim Medivision, a leader in image guided surgery. PRAXIM Medivision was founded in 1995 by academic researchers from the CAMI (Computer Assisted Medical Interventions) team of the University Joseph Fourier (Grenoble -France). This collaboration makes it possible to combine the accuracy of image-guided surgery with the speed of standard surgical protocol for TKR. Precimed and Praxim will further integrate this IGS know-how to support the UKI™ - a universal 8-in-1 femoral knee cutting guide developed in conjunction with the Hospital for Special Surgery, New York. The alliance between Praxim and Precimed, combined with HSS's UKI™ technology provides Precimed's customers with a pioneering solution for TKR and is adaptable for use with any total knee replacement implant. UKI is a trademark of the Hospital for Special Surgery. More information is available from Precimed (www.precimed.com).
