| Return to Supplier News Source: Armadillo PR TECHNICAL TEAM STRENGTHENED AT DONCASTERS MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIES The Doncasters Group has announced two new technical appointments to its Medical Technologies division in the UK.
Michael Leddington joins Doncasters Medical Technologies – European Casting Operations in Sheffield as Process Engineer from the engine component division of Fagor Ederan S. Coop in Spain, a manufacturer of engine, transmission, suspension and brake castings. Michael’s main focus will be improving manufacturing techniques and implementing operational efficiencies in the site’s foundry area. A foundry man with over 14 years’ experience, Michael started his career with Triplex Lloyd as a foundry technician and gained a BEng in Materials Engineering in 1996. He has a wealth of casting expertise including die and sand casting. His career-to- date has been largely with casting manufacturers for the automotive sector, including Honda UK and Dynacast / SPM. Originally from the Black Country, Michael has relocated to Sheffield with his partner to take up the position with Doncasters. Michael says: “Transferring from the automotive industry into the medical sector is an exciting challenge. I’m looking forward to applying my extensive experience of casting technology within the exacting automotive environment and contributing to the site’s approach to continuous improvement and lean manufacturing.” In the second appointment, recent graduate Simon Hogg joins the New Product Development and Introduction team at Doncasters Medical Technologies – European Casting Operations in Sheffield. He joins the company from the University of Leeds, where he recently gained a MEng in Medical Engineering. Simon will be working on improvements to efficiency in the new product development process. His new position means a return home for Simon who is a Sheffield native. Both Michael Leddington and Simon Hogg will report into Nic Seymour, the site’s Technical Manager. Eric J.
