Kenosha, Wisconsin (June 3, 2004), Beere Precision Medical Instruments (BPMI) has been awarded the patent number 6,739,068 for its unique load and distance measuring compression and distraction instrument.

This innovative design gives the surgeon measure the amount of load being applied to the implant or bony structure. With the addition of the distance scale the correct size of implant can also be measured at specific loads.
